R-CADE Summer Games 2025

It's almost time for another summer of fun! We have a jam packed calendar of events for families, and big kids to enjoy throughout July and August. Welcome to R-CADE. We are a retro gaming console arcade and nostalgia cafe in the Saltmarket area of Glasgow. We are family friendly during the day, and over 18's after 7pm. During the summer season, as well as our usual arcade sessions, we will be hosting meetups, quiz nights, tournaments and other fun events for you to get involved in. From July 1st until August 17th our opening times will extend to 6 days a week, Tuesday to Sunday. We will however be closed on the 11th, 12th and 13th of July due to the events happening at Glasgow Green on these dates, but don't worry, we are hosting a free games meetup in Queens Park on Sunday the 13th of July called 'R In The Park'. We will be hosting weekly kids Boardgame Club in the R-CADE cafe every Wednesday from 12pm for kids aged 10 and up. Please note there are very limited spaces for this so make sure to book your little gamer in to guarantee a space HERE.

For the first time at R-CADE, we will be hosting a Smash Bros night on the 18th of July. Celebrating the history of Smash Bros on every console it was ever released on. We will have N64, gamecube, Wii, Wii U and introducing, for one night only, Super Smash Bros Ultimate on the Switch. You can spend your evening meeting other Smash fans, battling on your favourite console, and trying your hand on a console you perhaps have never tried!

For the second year, we will be hosting our Classic Tetris Tournament in the arcade on the 26th of July. Following the rules of the CTWC, we will be playing on original CRT with NES, the champion will win an R-CADE goody bag!

Our kids Minecraft Build Off will return on July 20th. Gamers will be given a theme and 2 hours to build their most magnificent creation. For crafters aged 10 and up.

But wait, there's more. Our August calendar is also packed with events and meetups. Tickets for all special events are now available online.

To kick off August, we will be hosting a game night celebrating one of our favourite tiny war games; Worms! We will have a selection of Worms games set up in the arcade, and for one night only we will have a copy of the 'Worms: The Boardgame' for guests to try their hand at tabletop battling too.

Back by popular demand, our Guitar Hero party will return in the arcade for a night of rocking out! Our full band kit will be set up and we turn the volume up to 11! The neighbours really hate us.

Introducing: Stardew Valley- The Boardgame on the 23rd of August. Join us for an evening of crop growing, fishing, mining and making our grandpa proud. An epic 4 hour session to learn this epic boardgame inspired by our favourite cosy game.
